Welcome to our light and ethereal ‘Gossamer’ collection. The earrings are cut from eco-friendly solid raw brass, which are strong enough to form the very finest filigree shapes. They are then beautifully textured on a series of anvils, the oldest of which is a Victorian antique piece. This collection is inspired by delicate, woodland forms, the half light of dawn and dusk, and continues our themes of botanical sprigs and ancient classical mythology. 'Selene' is the Ancient Greek goddess of the moon, and whilst Luna and Diana hold similar places in Classical mythology, it is only Selene who was believed to be the living embodiment of the moon herself. She was the beautiful daughter of the Titans Thea and Hyperion, and sister to the sun god Helios, and the dawn goddess Eos. Our 'Selene' earrings are, whilst still making an elegant statement, the lightest earrings in our collection. At just over half a gram per piece they really are barely there. Brass is quickly becoming highly popular choices among jewellery makers. They have long been valued for strength and shine, and are coming into their own as eco conscious choices too, as they are made rather than mined, and are fully recyclable!
